2020 Vision

Like all of us, I’ve had a lot of time to think this year.. I know that 2020 has been really difficult for everyone, but did 2020 finally free the time to reflect on what really matters?

My new single ‘A Chance to Miss You’ created with the brilliant Will Harrison, is my attempt to answer this.

The lyrics came to me as I was reflecting on all of the unfulfilled hopes and dreams of 2020; so many dreams unrealised for so many. Yet what stood out this year was a message of hope, that what really mattered was our togetherness, our caring for each other, our shared humanity. Perhaps this year has offered us the hope that we really need each other or in the words of the song ‘all I ever needed was a chance to miss you’.

I crafted the melody, lyrics and vocals for a A Chance to Miss You on my guitar during the isolation of lockdown. The beautiful piano arrangement and accompaniment was then developed by the wonderfully talented Will Harrison to lift this track to another level. The track is mixed to perfection by Grammy Award winner Ruadhri Cushnan.

Released today (December 18th), ‘A Chance to Miss You’ is our way to say goodbye to a very long 2020. Here’s to a happy and hopeful 2021!
